Program Manager - Agriculture
Weidemann Associates, Inc. is hiring a project manager with experience managing USAID funded programs to provide support to Weidemann’s growing portfolio of agriculture, agribusiness, food security and economic growth development projects. S/he should have at least 10 years of international development work experience, of which 3 years were spent working in a developing country environment.
Duties include:
• Design and implementation of project activities including the development of work plans, recruitment of personnel, and management of Activity Teams.
• Assuring quality control of project activities, including supporting fielded teams, reviewing work deliverables, and providing value-added feedback.
• Conduct research and development research reports, technical notes and related project activities.
• Management of project budgets and activity resources.
• Maintain positive relationships with partners and client.
• Supervision and management of junior staff. Mentoring and development of junior staff.
• New business activities including but not limited to technical writing, recruitment, cost, partner recruitment and management, and strategy development. Mentoring of junior staff on new business activities.
• Contributions to corporate systems and procedures development, support of the senior management, and willingness to support the improvement of office as a whole.
This position requires experience in:
• Demonstrated experience in project management of USAID contracts.
• Demonstrated experience responding to USAID procurements including recruitment, technical writing and budgeting.
• Knowledge of USAID regulations and contract administration.
• Technical skills and experience in the areas of agriculture, agribusiness and/or economic growth. Agriculture background is highly desired.
• Ability to develop and implement trainings and workshops, and/or conduct assessments and evaluations of USAID projects highly desired.
• Native English speaking level required with abilities in a second language, preferably French.
• Master’s degree in related area strongly preferred.
Candidate must be able to work independently and as a team member, and meet tight datelines and working across cultures. In addition, demonstrated writing capabilities are required. Ability to travel and work internationally required. No phone calls please.

Program Associate - Agriculture or Agribusiness
Weidemann Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified junior- to mid-level Program Associate to support our Agriculture portfolio; ideal candidates will have a a master’s degree and experience in agriculture, agribusines or a related field. This Program Associate will work with our Raise Plus IQC, Farmer to Farmer Special Programs and Support Project and other Agriculture and Agribusiness projects.

Responsibilities will include:
• Day to day project management and implementation of selected activities under an umbrella contract providing support to USAID’s Agriculture Office.
• Management and logistical support for meetings, workshops, trainings, and conferences, both domestically and internationally.
• Client relationship management.
• Reviewing monthly project and subcontractor invoices and updating monitoring tools.
• Developing project related documents and deliverables.
• Contributing to research efforts or managing research projects as needed.
• Editing and publication support for project documents and reports.
• Supporting the overall functioning and administrative duties related to projects.
• Subcontract administration and management for ongoing Farmer to Farmer Program.
• Drafting reports for upper management approval.
• Supporting new business efforts for Weidemann in Agriculture and other areas.
Required qualifications:
• Master’s Degree.
• Experience managing USAID funded international development projects, especially agriculture, food security and value chain development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 2007.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
• Ability to travel for up to 6 weeks a year.
• Minimum of five years of post degree experience in international development.
• Willingness to do whatever is needed to complete the task at hand.
Desired qualifications:
• Foreign language skills, French/Spanish preferred.
• Experience living or working in a developing country
