Information Systems Tools for Remote Project Administration
Responding to growing internet access around the world, Weidemann developed tools that improve remote project administration, ease the reporting burden, lower project costs and improve data reliability. For example, the MRR system tracks results from more than 600 USAID development partners worldwide. As part of the AEI-AGS Project, Weidemann developed an online system to track 80,000 scholarships to primary school girls in 15 African countries. A grant monitoring system automated reporting for grants issued from 1996 to the present, valued at more than $118 million, for 44 countries.
The Executive Secretariat of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) selected Weidemann Associates to design, build and install an online accounting system, resulting in up to date financial statements, from a prior backlog of nearly two years. For USAID Weidemann implemented an innovative system using smart cards to disburse and receive payments for micro loans. Weidemann wrote the software so the smart cards could also accumulate savings, resulting in savings with a positive interest rate, rare for small savings accounts in that region.
Weidemann now routinely builds online team sites for both short and long term development projects, to facilitate collaboration among users and to improve communications. In addition to individual team sites, Weidemann Associates can create more elaborate portal sites to handle the ever increasing demand for customer relationships administration, communications and information and knowledge sharing. These innovative services and software platforms developed by Weidemann Associates are driven by our clients' need for cost effective solutions in an increasingly competitive global business climate.
