John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer-to-Farmer Special Program Support Project (SPSP)
Weidemann Associates, Inc. has been awarded a contract to support special volunteer programs in agricultural development under the Farmer to Farmer (FTF) Program. The goals of the SPSP contract are to: test innovative approaches towards use of volunteers, draw from non-traditional sources of volunteers, develop the capacity of non-traditional volunteer organizations working in the agriculture sector, and address niche agricultural sector issues.
SPSP will pilot work in new areas of agricultural development and support innovative solutions to current implementation issues. Awarded under the RAISE PLUS Set Aside IQC, this task order will manage a limited number of special projects to meet these goals. FTF special program activities will include: a.) FTF program development projects (PDP); b.) FTF niche project grants; and c) enhanced learning activities such as the implementation of workshops, evaluations and studies to strengthen the FTF program.
The Farmer to farmer SPSP may fund volunteer assistance work in any FTF program-eligible country for activities relating to the following Agricultural Program Elements:

- · Emerging Agricultural Threats
- · Agribusiness and Producer Organizations
- · Land and Water Management
- · Rural and Agricultural Finance
- · Markets and Trade Capacity
- · Agricultural Livelihood Services and Safety Nets
